We read in Matthew 25:24-26 the parable of the man who received the one talent as he confessed to the master,
“I know you are a hard man, reaping where you have not sown and gathering where you have not harvested.”
We then read where the master affirmed this and said,
“you knew this is how I am.”
Now this causes us to stop and have a concern for not only what God has done saving us and making us His children but also for what does He expect from us when He returns.
We see the one who had the five talents and the one who had the two talents had increased them where the man with the one had not. It is easy for us to look at ourselves and say I really don’t have anything that I can do for God. This simply isn’t so. When we read of Moses in building the temple, required for everyone to bring an offering of that which they had.

In Exodus 35:23 we see that some brought goats hair. Yes. some had gold and silver and precious stones but some had only goats hair. Now maybe you are like me and sometimes feel Lord, I’m really not that important and I don’t have anything you can use, but that is simply not true.
God has created you unique and special and it is required of each of us to take that which we have, whether it be goat’s hair or gold and sow it in the kingdom of God. We must plant where the master hasn’t planted, and we must reap where he has not harvested.
