The True Heart Of God

We read of the great men of God and the great acts of God and want to know and serve Him. We go to church and learn of Him. We love the worship and give our tithes and offerings and hope for the burning bush and for signs and miracles so amazing.  We want to build our church and do what glorifies God.

Somehow in all of this it becomes so easy to miss the true heart of our Father.

In reading of Moses, we see the amazing way God appeared to him, in the burning bush. The signs, wonders and miracles that follow until the moment the Red Sea opens and the enemy is forever destroyed.

But it wasn’t about Moses, it was about a merciful God responding to the cries of those in need of mercy.

Sometimes we don’t really see what is the motive that causes God to do what He does.

You see; to know the heart of God we must understand our God is the God who hears the cry of those afflicted by their cruel masters in their slim pits of life.

To really know God for who He really is we must know first of all, His heart is still towards those of us who are suffering in our quiet pain. God told Moses I have surely seen the affliction of my people and have heard their cry. Our Father of all mercy and our Lord of comfort hears our cry today! He is not the God who comes to the best and highest, He is the God who comes to you and me when we are at our least and in our slime pits wherever and whatever this might be.

Oh, let us call again today on our Merciful Father in Jesus name, and be filled with hope; knowing he sees our afflictions and hears our prayers. Let us now rest in His love and mercy towards us today.
